Er. Dr. Bhesh Raj Thapa is Associate professor at Department of Civil Engineering, Universal Engineering and Science College, affiliated to Pokhara University and working in the capacity of Principal. He has awarded with Young Scientist Award 2077 BS by Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), affiliated with NAST as Associate fellow in recognition of extensive research and scientific contribution in the area of water resources research. He has also honored with Nepal Vidyabhusan Padak ‘KA”; awarded by the Government of Nepal in recognition of outstanding academic performance in PhD in Engineering at University of Yamanashi, Japan and MEXT Scholarship; awarded by the Government of Japan to pursue Doctor of Engineering at University of Yamanshi, Japan. He has worked as Individual Short-Term consultant (STC) at The World Bank and he has worked as researcher International Water Management Institute (IWMI), internationally renowned research institute, Nepal. He has expertise on design and implementation of multipurpose water resources project, hydropower, irrigation, agricultural water management, hydrological and hydrogeological modelling, groundwater management and governance. He is Water Resources Engineer and did PhD in Integrated River Basin Management from university of Yamanshi, Japan. He has worked as water resources engineer (consultant) with several government agencies like WECS, DWIDM, DOI, and DSCWM. He has also worked as visiting faculty at Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk Campus and responsible to delivered lecture on water related subject. He has also worked as assistant professor at Himalaya College of Engineering, Lalitpur and performed responsibilities in different capacity like Head of the Department, Vice principal, and Acting principal. He has published dozens of research paper in top-tier international journal and voluntarily affiliated with renowned research institution based in Nepal and abroad.
